I'm so old I remember when writing "letters to the editor" was about the best way to converse with others at large. For me, our, posts, toots allow for the same freedom of expression.

There was a toot-poll here recently, and being among their top ranked demographic it is highly likely my network is skewed to it, but they found a third of respondents had been working with Internet things for more than thirty years.

Put another way, a third of us here could remember life before enshitification, and often comment how this Fediverse reminds us of those good old days.

Still, somehow we found our way off the tangled web where our being devoured was certain. To Mastodon we came, where there is hope and real freedom, at least for now.

Thank goodness for Mastodon, at least for now. People do have choices to make.
