Robo had originally the bottom speaker grille and the speaker destroyed. The speaker got replaced but I had forgotten about the grille. Its main function is to prevent kids poking the speakers and transportation damage.
Seeing the bare speaker I quickly whipped out this grille with #freecad and printed it of ASA. Even at just 3mm thick it's surprisingly sturdy.

in reply to Ari [APz] Sovijärvi • • •This reminds me of when I was a kid and pushed in all the domes of my uncle's really expensive speaker set. They were one of those tall designer models with no grill because they looked so sleek without it.
Well, they were just asking to be pushed in. 😬

in reply to RasterInterrupt • • •@rasterinterrupt Thanks! This was actually my first time ever trying out this pattern. I always wondered how it was done, but eventually turned out to be a lot easier than I had anticipated.
And about kids and speaker cones, we had pretty decent speakers at our arcade, some kid just homed in on them and poked 'em all for some reason. We had never assumed the need for protection as they were not in the way so we'd accidentally poke them with anything.
