WELCOME TO THE RAVERHOOD

It started on the drive home from work, when I noticed an uncharacteristic mist unfurling along the ground - creeping and clinging, blurring every edge into a shrouded, liminal landscape without borders.

Later, when I stepped outside to roll the bins down to the curb, I could see the crystalline studs of Orion's belt twinkling brightly in a clear patch of sky, glittering against his cobalt blue shirt while the magenta glow of grow lights from the local greenhouse created the illusion of a purple cloak draped across his shoulders.

The sickly sodium orange street lamps and blinding white floodlights on the neighbor's house failed to dispel the enchantment; their strange, diffused incandescence only adding to the otherworldly, kaleidoscopic effect.

And then the clouds rolled in.
