I got an invitation to join a group of local naturalists to see if there was a population of Sand lizards (Lacerta agilis) on a neighbouring peninsula. We didn't find any unfortunately, but as always there was plenty of other things to see. Near the lighthouse we found an appletree that had fallen down the cliff during the last storm and I jokingly called it a Malus prostrata. I got all warm and fuzzy inside, when that joke was not only understood but also elicited chuckles all around. Hanging out with people can be nice sometimes🙂
