The Dunning-Kruger effect is not the problem - Nice Micro Mondays 43

Have you heard of the Dunning-Kruger effect, and how it makes people who know almost nothing very confident?
Well, you can forget it, because this is not what we see in public life, it is just good old con artists trying to trick you.

Great video! I was fascinated by myself, because I actually knew the proper Dunning-Kruger effect, I read the wiki page, looked at the graphs, everything. But still, for some reason, the pop-sci "meme" interpretation had weaselled its way into my brain until I watched this and realised what it actually says again.

And yes, in a lot of cases, there are actual grifters and con artists described by it. Well, also narcissists I guess, although more likely than not, narcissists that are also con artists.

Maybe you are on Mt. Stupid about your knowledge of the Dunning-Kruger Effect
