It was my wife and Lester Smith of Abbey Road Studios who extracted the photos from the mutoscope Lester had found and digitised this video (Lester was the specialist in restoring and maintaining old studio equipment esp microphones up til his retirement last year)

in part because this isnt the original. The original was a dog listening to an Edison gramophone, where the voice on the gramophone was that of his late owner, an opera singer. The photographer (painter? I cant remember) tried to sell the image to the Edison company and Edison threatened to sue the piss out of him instead.
