@mike βIβm always set back by how an obviously light-hearted poll is immediately turned into a fundamental, serious philosophical discussion ;)β β which is at least much better than in other social media, where shouting and arguing starts instead. π
I might have used a more positive emoticon in my last post, since for me, βLife is complicatedβ stands for, βYou do not need to do everything right.β But nobody can guess that. Life is complicated... π

in reply to Jan Wildeboer π· • • •All in all, I prefer the plural noun #Fedizens, but I'll settle for the mass noun #Federati.
Although "Federati" may be a plural noun too, but I've never heard of one Fedizen referred to as a "Fediratus". Perhaps as a name: "Hail, citizen Johannes Fediratus Mastodonus!"

in reply to Jan Wildeboer π· • • •None. The idea of federation feel foreign and confusing to people, even though they do that everyday when sending and receiving emails. I found it is best not to mention federation. Instead, invite them to an instance that you know would appeal to them. Let them discover and come to you with questions. When it becomes their question, they are more open to learning.
When we try to load them with that knowledge from the beginning, it becomes overwhelming.
