Goodbye to support for the arts and culture... šŸ˜”

US president Donald Trump has done away with the Presidentā€™s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH), which advises the president on policy decisions and engagement with the philanthropic and private sectors. It also endeavours to boost support for the arts, humanities and museum and library services at the federal level.

He couldn't bother with the Kennedy Center Honors - he has no interest in the performing arts. That's effin' free publicity - recognize the country's best artists, actors, musicians, and dancers - and he couldn't bother. Couldn't send Pence/Mother or Boy Wonder/Piece-of-Ass.

My choir was on track for a White House concert in 2017... but when Trump was there the people in charge could never get things arranged. They kept putting us off. We've had to regroup after COVID and an affiliation change and are almost ready for that performance level again, but I suppose we won't be doing a White House trip.
