Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the whole trip was ment to at some point have an incident that Trunp would use as an excuse to invade. Which is still a possible outcome IMO.
And any US soldier who takes part in any such invasion is an outright traitor to America, deserving life in prison or worse.
