Playing with a simple growth pattern in today's #inkyDays drawing.

I liked the colors, so I started one on watercolor paper. Then I smeared that, and ruined it. But I liked how the incomplete version looked, and decided to try again with an emphasis on the 'mistake'. And I rather like how this one is turning out.

The path to new artwork is rarely ever a straight line.

I had to go to the Cancer hospital for a blood draw today, which is always boring and stressful. But there was some cool art hanging in the waiting room and big entry way of the building. Oh, and the results were already posted for me by the time I got home. Looks good!

It's a dark and grey day here, so I'm going with gloriously happy orange ink and a comforting floral pattern for today's #inkyDays drawing. I also started a bigger drawing on watercolor paper.

Here's an in-progress shot. The shimmer of the ink is almost noticeable in the photo.

Playing with some cute little polka dotted mushrooms for today's #inkyDays drawing. I also finished that floral on watercolor paper that I started yesterday. The ink has such a lovely shimmer.

In solidarity with Minnesota, I'm experimenting with the Minnesota flag as a motif in today's #inkyDays drawing.

I'm also working on a better representation of the flag. Maybe to make stickers to give away? It's a little challenging and freehand isn't working for me. Once I figured out the star, it got easier. Tested a bunch of different inks, and I think I have a good combination now.

I'll post more when I make more progress.

For today's #inkyDays drawing, I'm going with a comforting floral pattern in one of the inks I used for drawing abstract Minnesota flags yesterday.

I've also made progress on drawing a Minnesota flag with my inks. It's much more precise than my usual approach to drawing my hand, but it's getting close...at least for now. Each component is cut out, another difference from my usual drawings.
