…kind of… 😇

I start writing this post 5 days before the scheduled call from the surgeon. I got the puncture done 8 days ago. And the surgeon will call me in 5 days (as I write this). Unfortunately… It’s a 15:00 call, so I’ll have the whole day to be anxious about it. As I’m already anxious about it now.

I mean, I know I need a surgery. I know that hip bowl (or is it a cup?) needs to be placed in the right position again. So my leg can stop “wobbling”, so it can stop tingling, so it can (hopefully) function properly again… But…

Knowing my “luck”, I’ll have an infection there and I need antibiotics (again). And those meds will probably then mean, that I’ll also need more testing, as they need to know if the antibiotics are working. The area needs to be clear before they will schedule the surgery. As an infection means that the hip bowl is at risk of not healing properly, like what happened now…

Should this change of the bowl have been caused by the infections I had post surgery, and should the area be clean now, then… I guess I will be placed on the waiting list for the surgery. I just wish I knew a date.

So I could plan, so I can arrange things for that, so there would be less insecurity. I need facts, I need to be able to plan, I need to make sure that I can get everything sorted so I’ll have to worry less when the date comes. But for now… I’m just anxious, counting the days, and then the hours, till I get that call. And, when I know more, then I’ll continue this post. Not that you’ll notice, 😉 as it’s just continuing below this…

Well, it’s been a few days since I started the post, and I have an update. 😊

There is no infection! 🎉 So… It means I’m on the list for the surgery. According to the surgeon, the waiting time is ± 2 months. So, I should be getting the surgery around the end of May? Then there is a six weeks period of boredom! I mean, I’ll be limited so much, so it will be hard to get through…

But yeah, they will call me when they can schedule me in. When I have the date, I can make arrangements for the bed/couch thing, and I can ask people to help me with Arwen and groceries and such… I never like asking for help. But when you need two crutches, you can’t just do your things….

It will be hard, for sure. I’ll struggle, I’ll be triggered, I’ll be sad and angry… But hopefully it will all be worth it… 🤞🏻

I’ll try to update you all when I know a date and all that. 😊 And of course I’ll keep writing about it as the journey continues, as I usually do. 😉
