@pzwalker I (and I’m certainly not the only one) have asked myself this question too.
Apart from the fact that naturism/nudism (preferably without a content warning) must be permitted on the new instance, it is important to ME that this instance is NOT hosted in the USA and NOT on US servers, but ideally in the EU.
Is there actually a way to inform all body.social user securely about the shutdown and to launch a poll asking which instance the users would like to move to?
@Bernd @pzwalker Mastodon.social is a reasonable choice. Nudity is not a problem here, pornography is. Read the instance rules. Not very restrictive. Also take into account that it is pretty easy to defederate an instance. If that happens, that instance is more like a small isolated island.
@Bernd Sending a message to everyone about the shutdown would have to be done by @trey He is the admin. He can see all the users on the server and he can send everyone a personal message about this. That might not be a fun action if there are many users, but there may be a way to select only the active ones.
He did already announce that the server will go away but this was a message people could have missed.
@Scott Hanzelka Trying to work on a solution to either transfer/adopt body.social or create an similar instance. Would appreciate any feedback or perspectives on the effort to maintain some naturist run present in the Fediverse
@clothesfreelife In my opinion, maintaining a presence in the Fediverse run by naturists for naturists and everyone else is absolutely desirable and important!
@scotthanz123 @Trey @Scott Hanzelka I didn’t see his first ask for someone to take over I am very keen on developing a strong naturist presence in the Fediverse didn’t even explore Mastodon (micro blogging) instance because body social was there. Putting together a couple other options and will gladly include this one if someone is keen to collaborate. Reached out to Trey but have nit hear anything back as off yet.
