Did Snopes really create an account here?

Fact Check: True

@rstub
I've been not the only one ... since the fediverse is federated, it tends not to show all answers and people give the same hints.

(Since this post has a useful howto link, I won't delete it. It might help snopes and others to verify, if they want to)

in reply to Hella

@unixwitch You appeared first on my server. But yes, I can well imagine that more than one person suggested that.
in reply to Ralf Stubner

@rstub
You see (most/all?) other answers, if you visit the "original page" of the post.

(Which is easily done in the web interface, but on mobile clients - at least the one I use - a bit more cumbersome)

in reply to Snopes

It's a pity your web site is no longer usable because of all the ads and pop-ups.
in reply to skribe

@skribe It's pretty good, yes. I haven't tried it on Snopes yet, I don't think.

Mastodon has just 1 A… who fact checks the fact checkers? 😝
in reply to Snopes

Did Snopes destroy their own reputation by gaslighting us over whether or not Musk did a Nazi salute?

Yes they did.

Fuck all the way off.🖕

Plague Island Resistance reshared this.

in reply to Plague Island Resistance

@JoeGrowling oh wow as I am not on the Twitter and have not been for nearly three years this is pretty shocking and disgusting

in reply to Snopes

Hopefully you are going to get verified, would save much confusion.
in reply to Snopes

Be sure to verify your account, so noone can impersonate it!

in reply to Sibshops

@Sibshops Unsolicited instructions: Add this HTML somewhere on the page that resolves when you visit `snopes.com`:

```
<a href="infosec.exchange/@snopes" rel="me">Mastodon</a>
```

Then, add `snopes.com` to your Mastodon profile's ” Profile metadata” section.

Then, expect your webserver to be regularly queried by every Mastodon instance 24/7 until the end of time.

in reply to Snopes

... but will they keep that account active?

We hope so.
