Hey lookit - another one of them “administrative mistakes”!

Forty-five years ago, Jose Francisco Garcia Rodriguez fled Cuba on a ship provided by the United States for people seeking refuge from the Cuban government.

While on his way to work on Monday, the 73-year-old grandfather was picked up by immigration enforcement agents near his Lafayette home. He sits today in an ICE processing center in Pine Prairie, a village in rural Evangeline Parish. - Claire Taylor

I don't thin we have to grant them the "mistake" escape route. It's all intentional until proven otherwise.

@edgeofeurope
Not being careful is their preferred method. The family separation fiasco was worse because they didn’t bother to keep track of who belonged with whom.

And the article doesn't even comment on the fact the 73 year old was on his way to work. Sure, maybe he wants to, but as he's also the carer for his wife maybe not. Not really a sign of a functional society

the whole situation is disgusting but one part that really stood out to me that he was on his way _to work_ at the age of _73_

"I said 'No, Papa. They're not coming for you,'" she recalled. "'They want bad guys and you're not a bad guy.'"

Why do I get the feeling from the article that she used to be in favor of ICE removing the ‘bad people?’

He is 73years old and he has to go to work? Fuck me, the US of A is such a shithole country.
