English Nationalists who did not fight the Second World War but nevertheless see it as their prerogative to instruct the rest of us on the manner in which it should be remembered & understood, walk the finest of lines between commemoration & celebration. In contrast to the 80 year timeframe on which they choose to fixate, their constant injunction to British Europeans to "move on" after a mere 8 years, is all the more hollow.
