I appreciate that the tracker has photos, names, and bio of the people who gave been disappeared by ICE. Easy to lose sight of individuals as the numbers mount.
@PapyrusBrigade I was thinking the same thing tbh. I think what makes stuff like MAGA possible—and what is perhaps the most disturbing thing about our society—is just how easy it is made for us to forget each other's humanity. We get buried as individuals in statistics that only have meaning in the context of human lives. So, to see the names is a great reminder that these people MATTER.
Legislators and their allies are running an aggressive campaign that uses public money and the law to pressure businesses they say are pushing “woke” causes.
I appreciate this initiative and also see that they seem to have limited how they're defining political motivation. From my observation, every seizure we experienced in Massachusetts as part of the week-long series of raids last week was politically motivated. But only the Tufts University student is on the list.
I remember when people dissapearing was something happening in South American banana republics, or in mafia ruled Sicily. Or in US gang-controlled neighborhoods. But under the enlightened rule of Donald Trump dissapearing and imprisonment without trial has become commonplace. In the past I did not want to visit US because any idiot on the street could be carrying a gun. Today I don't want to visit US because foreigners are at risk of illegal arrest. When will America be great?
Because once the "Make Again" mission will be accomplished, nobody needs MAGAs and DOGEs anymore. So "making" has to be a perpetual, neverending endeavour.
"Terrorist Confinement Center" is some peak dystopian naming. In a world where they could have just called it "holding cell" or "jail" or "prison", deliberately choosing "terrorist confinement center" speaks volumes.
In America previous to Trump, COINTELPRO or it's later and former incarnations, would murder you, or set you up for a murder rap, if you interfered with biz as ush. Citing in order, #FredHampton, #LeonardPeltier as obvious examples, but there are literally thousands more you never heard about. White middleclass people too. Citing #SamMelville.
Are you counting people who were deported to Costa Rica, Panama and Guatemala? At least in Costa Rica and Panama, they are locked without their documents and without access to lawyers, the press, etcetera.
a criminal who uses their toddler child as a human-shield against assassination attempts; a bigot who is willing to attack their own daughter and feed her to the wolves because she is transgender, is a man willing to commit unspeakable atrocities.
and he has a whole political party behind him.
this coup will not end until Americans deal with these sociopaths by all means necessary.
someone that illegally comes to the US has no due process rights by US law, de facto because they are somewhere where their rights are not defined. Encouraging illegal immigration puts everyone at risk, not the least of which is the people coming, whom are manipulated and essentially enslaved by all manner of legal and illegal nefarious companies and cartels once they are in the US. You are hurting the ones you pretend to care about. Stop. Just stop.

Well: Never.
