I can say, as an American and natsec nerd, that would never happen for quite a few reasons despite the heinous jokes. I'd join Canada like many Americans would. Trump's bluster is an attempt to intimidate to gain leverage against... our allies? But its all bluster (other than trade related stuff). Sending you all the hugs, I am so sorry you even have to worry about that

And I fear that everyone not taking it seriously is what makes it more likely to happen. He is testing the limit to see if people will react and if they don't he will try to do it. Well, I, and many other Canadians, will react strongly. I take all his threats very seriously, since his threat of becoming President in 2016.

I'm not sure yet what I'd do if I ended up on the wrong side of this as an American, but I'd do what I could.
