FYI to friends who think a Linux dual-boot is too complex or unwieldy to do.

It's very inexpensive $5-$10 bucks to get a Thumb drive and load a bootable version of Linux Mint onto it, and with Windows Recall marching forward, I'd advise it.

It's very easy to boot up Linux from a thumb drive so you can browse and stream in privacy, and then just take it out of your USB port and reboot windows when you want to play games.

Been running dual-boot Win 10 and Mint two years, Dell Insprion 5 years old. Then oddly, wifi connects, but doesn't connect. On either OS's. So I did a complete reinstall of W10, then tried install of ubuntu latest 5 yr LT,,, it cannot install, it does do limited install but doesn't work. I've done several installs of ubuntu and mint through the years. Too weary of the drama today, to dig into it, had to do a second reinstall of W10 as it eventually demand key to boot. blah, it ain't, that, easy at times. Just saying. I'll run on W10 a few days to see if WifI acts up. So, love dat ubuntu but it can be a bear at times.

@michaelwillsey Nice!

I ran one for six weeks last summer but it ended up being too buggy, so I had to switch to booting from my thumb drive, which I use for everything except gaming.

I think the dual drive set up wasn't corrected during install of W10, So it might be lack of memory. I'll fix it eventually! LOL

@michaelwillsey FOr me it was some system incompatibility. I was troubleshooting almost every time I booted up Linux.

After six weeks I gave up and, after a while, realized I could just use linux via thumb drive and save myself the hassle.

@Flash Mob Of One It's easy if you're sighted. If you're blind and use a screen reader, you have to be able to change the boot order in your laptop so that it will boot from usb, all without speech. You also have to ensure that the version of Linux you choose not only has Orca installed, but that it's set up to allow you to use a hotkey to start it during the installation itself. If you have to enable accessibility first, it's useless.

Update on Install ubuntu, Dell Inspirion 2021. It was Win 10 Bitlocker holding up the Dual Install. So I went with a full Install, but Bitlocker still blocked! So I loaded ubuntu, started Gparted, deleted all volumes and partitions, etc! (That will teach Windows a lesson ;)

Had to force power off by pressing and holding power button. Took two attempts for some reason to get temporary ubuntu loaded. Did the whole kit N caboodle 100% install. Signed in for ubuntu Pro.

So hell or High Water I was getting ubuntu installed, now I have to rest! LOL

But yes, easy peasy, wellll, often not. I have found out repeatedly, but well worth the ordeal.
