An Infant's Eternal Wreath.

Kapunda Cemetery, Kapunda, South Australia.

Kapunda is home to two primary historical cemeteries: the Kapunda Cemetery (the main town cemetery) and the St John’s Catholic Cemetery, which is located a few kilometres outside of town and carries a more somber, legendary history.

Kapunda Cemetery serves as a record of the pioneers who built the copper mining town.

A black and white close up photograph of a circular porcelain grave medallion, or immured ceramic wreath, attached to a decorative iron fence. The text inside commemorates William Arnold Shannon, an infant son who died in 1888. Faded artificial flowers are visible behind the protective glass cover. The background shows a larger stone monument with stained inscriptions. A watermark reading 'Gardens of the Silent' sits in the top left corner.
