Football Bros: a quick two-player guide
If you want a football game you can play with a friend at one computer, Football Bros is worth a look. It's an arcade American football game built around short 1v1 matches, it runs in the browser, and both players can share one keyboard.
I put together a short guide for the football bros game, since a few people asked how to get started.
Modes: Quick Play drops you straight into one match. Franchise Mode strings matches together, so you have something to work toward.
Controls: on a computer you move with WASD or the arrow keys and use the spacebar for actions. On phones and tablets everything uses touch controls. If two of you share a keyboard, look at the in-game control screen together before kickoff so each person knows which keys are theirs.
Difficulty: there are several levels. If one player is newer, have them play a couple of solo games on the easiest setting first, then go head-to-head.
Power-ups and upgrades add some variety. Agree before you start whether anything is off-limits.
Easy session plan: one warm-up match each, a best of three, then swap sides of the keyboard for the decider.
Disclosure: I run footballbros.me, an independent fan site where you can play it. The game is made by Blue Wizard Digital, and the official site is footballbros.io.
