We knew this was coming. Probably the move that will begin the end of traditional search for all but the staunchest alternatives, & hyper-normalise 'AI' at scale.
With the exception of those few countries that cannot reach such services, it will make 'AI' endemic, & give these tech oligarchs profound control.

@gbsills Oh, the AI integration was included in Calibre 8.11 as a dictionary lookup feature (allows you to query AI about the currently selected text). The feature is completely optional, and no AI code is loaded until you configure an AI provider 9to5linux.com/calibre-8-11-e-b…
So it's like replacing the Wikipedia lookup (and local dictionary) that you get in a Kindle with AI?
