She was one of the 7 or 9 sidhe (fairies, fay) talking care of the magical otherworld, The Isle of Apples (commonly place of Apples in Irish), corrupted Avalon. Guinevere was also fay (literally the White Enchantress) and enemy of Merlin and Morgan Le Fay (Morien).
