A great help with pod problems, in case your pod is down, is to use rss.
You subscribe to each poster, just like following them, and get a summary of each PUBLIC post and a direct link to their post — on their pod, not yours, so you can read it all, including comments and so on, but you cannot comment, unless you are also registered on that pod.
The rss feed link is simple:
For the user user@pod.org
the link is:https://pod.org/public/user.atom
Which rss reader? for all OS’s you can use thunderbird or firefox with extensions such as feedbro – check out others, of course.
For me, on linux, there’s quietrss (graphical interface) or, for the command line, newsraft.
Newsraft is fantastic - and easy - everything is text - even the list of urls for the feed - so if want to collect a huge list of those you follow, that’s no problem.
