Surprised by holy word of arrogance
that teaches him to understand the trees,
Iapetus laughs while heaving stone of faith
at gusts of storm winds blasting his frail hut
where wife and children huddle in stark fear,
so he builds fane to shield them with his heart.

Inspired by holy word of arrogance
that sparks strange fire of wisdom in his brain,
Prometheus sets stones in ring of hope
to well contain the writhing flame of light
of flashing chaos inside frame of thought
so he can manage power of the sky.

Disturbed by holy word of arrogance
that tricks him to look back down road of fate,
Epimetheus subdues bear with sharp claws,
then sews fur cloak for Pandora to wear
as she holds precious box of secret truth
when they walk in broad field of sparkling snow.

Concerned by holy word of arrogance
that presses stars down on our mortal heads,
Atlas supports globe of Earth with brave trust
when he constructs tall roof of pine-tree beams
where his clever daughters, Hesperides,
guard orchard of golden apples from thieves.

Engorged by holy word of arrogance
that drives him to oppose tyrants of greed,
Menoetius declares with boastful voice
that he crowns himself Emperor of Earth
because his acts are the most beautiful,
till Zeus strikes him down with his thunderbolt.

Deceived by holy word of arrogance
that highlights beauty of brave Helios,
Clymene bears him son she names Phaethon
who drives huge two-wheeled chariot of fire
in noble battle against Uranus
to free the world from tyranny of greed.

Intrigued by holy word of arrogance
that diverts focus of his searching eyes,
Deucalion constructs huge ark of wood
where he bears Pyrrha, loyal bride of trust,
safe during flood that destroys world of men,
to dwell on Mount Parnassus in fruit grove.

Amazed by holy word of arrogance
that shows indifference of Nature to Man,
Cronus wields sharp blade of justice to fight
violent Uranus in Temple of Truth,
which Iapetus built to shield human souls,
through war to cast cruel Titans into Hell.
