Kapunda Cemetery, Kapunda, South Australia.

Kapunda is home to two primary historical cemeteries: the Kapunda Cemetery (the main town cemetery) and the St John’s Catholic Cemetery, which is located a few kilometres outside of town and carries a more somber, legendary history.

Kapunda Cemetery serves as a record of the pioneers who built the copper mining town.

A dramatic black and white photograph featuring a tall stone obelisk standing directly in front of a dark, spreading tree. The grave plot in the foreground is enclosed by an ornate black iron fence with cross motifs on the posts. The gravel ground contrasts with the dark foliage of the trees lining the horizon under a stark, bright sky. A watermark reading 'Gardens of the Silent' is placed in the top left corner.
