This explains the end of social democracy, dismantling of labor law structures, welfare, pension, health service. A capitalist dictatorship going global with the illusion of the useless state as camouflage. The state being rendered useless for both classes at this stage, but the general population is still per-occupied in memes of their state representatives and pseudo-policy making.
After all it is dialectical historical materialism at its finest, if not where is the fault in assumptions and analysis?

I don't really have any criticism, only an addendum: in addition to critiquing the capitalist state, what should also be acknowledged is the need for the capitalist ruling class and the capitalist state to be abolished and replaced with a workers' socialist state, with the working class as the ruling class.

The reason to have a state is to maintain inequality, to maintain the hegemony of the "haves" being on top of the "have nots".

I have two answers that I suggest you take to heart:
1. Read or listen to the audiobooks of "State and Revolution," "The Communist Manifesto," "Socialism: Utopian and Scientific," especially the first one, for a longer answer to your question.
2. The proletariat has to abolish the capitalist state first and then construct a proletarian-led socialist state to prevent counter-revolution and defend against imperialism.

The economical analysis of how capitalism works and how the object is the exploitation of labor I fully understand and agree. Politically Marx and Engels did very little work, and this done by their religious followers is PURE idealism and extremely anti-materialist. So I can't disagree more with Leninism and all of its false assumptions that serve nobody else but the elite of the vanguard party.
Within what Marxist perceive as 1 class, the working class I clearly see 2 classes, the managers and the managed. The true enemy today not as visible in 19th century, is the managerial class. Sometimes, late in life, when one discovers they were wrong, it is better to die (materially and/or socially) than to admit being wrong for such a long time.
Which I think it is precisely why N.Poulantzas commuted suicide, when realizing after writing 15 books he discovered how wrong he was.

in reply to yianiris • • •Classes don't just disappear after the capitalist state is abolished. Classes came first in human history, and then states were created to serve the ruling classes. Classes can exist independently of states, and the same is true for the capitalist class, who will continue to exist even after the capitalist state is abolished and will use its power to try to regain its position as ruling class, which is why the proletarian class must make itself the ruling class to supress them.
