For all the bleating about the level of public debt in the UK, two things are worth stating:
a. right now we're back to the level of public debt (as a proportion of GDP) last seen in the 1960s... a time when the UK was doing pretty well & not the basket case public sector hawks might claim...
b. the recent rise of public debt happened under the management of the Tories (the Right) & so they should should act with some humility when claiming its a problem! Its not!
