Because of happiness stuck in my heart
from which false memories of love are woven,
I pretend my circle is but one part
of deep darkness from which nothing is given,
yet secret thoughts I cherish are long gone
despite how sharing passion is condoned.

Knowledge I gain from trees rooted in dirt
trick me to think that strange events happen
when I emerge from the book to assert
my lawful right to keep my mind more open
to new facts trickling from the mountain stream
when I market myself as the dream schemer.

We are not star-crossed lovers of the stage
yet our souls are luminous less than sudden,
since I tame my wolf nature of fierce rage
that helps me evolve into soul of Odin
which provides means to accumulate cash
budgeted to fund strict marvels of passion.

Each telephone that never deigns to ring
expresses solemn intention to pardon
sinners trapped in hell loop by broken wing
that is no substitute for the lost garden
where wealthy leeches trade barbarous wit
because all that is gold pretends to glitter.

If we decide to overcome our plight
with wisdom encoded in joking banter,
we might never escape trap of the trite
that motivates how well-trained horses canter
in harsh race of entrepreneurs to impress
artists who invent new ways of expression.

Thus she decides she will never atone
for desire to untwist strict rules of grammar
by speaking in code on the telephone
in masterful performance of her stammer
that tricks her true love to join the boat guild
which meets in time-shifting frame of no building.

Bleeding her signature in her new book
about the wicked daughter of the raven,
she announces she will marry her cook
who once prepared meals in kitchen of Heaven
till he broke the sacred messenger staff
that Mercury waves to elicit laughter.

Sad ghost of every faceless passenger
who rode the ship of state into disaster
convinces her to adopt Lucifer
when she is hired as celestial newscaster,
so she raises him to channel his pain
through abstract art as the infamous painter.
