Book information is provided by @wikidata and @inventaire and you can import your existing book data from LibraryThing, StoryGraph, OpenLibrary and Calibre.

Unfortunate timing on the first login attempt. Reload seemed happy on the 2FA step, but that was a bit of a surprise.

@xinit

If there's a particular server having difficulties and you haven't started using your account yet, it might be worth signing up on a different one?

I've been using bookwyrm.social for a while and this definitely happens from time to time. It is generally up and running nicely, though.

I've also never heard of Amazon Goodreads. What does BookWyrm do in its own words?

It's a book-oriented social network where you can keep track of books you've read, post book reviews, read other people's reviews, discover new books to read etc. It describes itself as a "social reading platform".

The official BookWyrm website is at joinbookwyrm.com

Thanks !

Unfortunately, I have heard that Bookwyrm development is on pause.

Any better info on that ?

( I am there on Bookwyrm: @fresseng@bw.heraut.eu )

I haven't heard that? Where did you see it?

Just checked the Github and the lead developer's latest commit was 11 hours ago:

github.com/bookwyrm-social/boo…

Before that there were a bunch of commits 4 days ago.

I'm not a developer so I may be misinterpreting this, but it seems active?

I have it from @balbec. He is the admin of my instance. He has the full story.

I am eager for good news.

I am not a specialist in commits either.

in reply to Nicolas Fressengeas

@fresseng I'd like to be positive, but having followed things a little, I can confirm that things have been slowing down for several months now. The person in charge of the project doesn't have enough time to devote to it, and there's a lot of work in progress. But that's not a reproach... I'm very grateful to the developers, just an observation.

@balbec @fresseng

I've just checked with the lead dev of BookWyrm and development is definitely continuing.

They had been a bit slower lately due to real life stuff, but the development work has continued.

Can you link to a good HowTo on this? Asking for a new friend ...
