On Halloween 2024, a beautiful cat appeared in my garden. She came every day, was unchipped, & was so very nice that I named her Mabel (from the Latin "amabilis" = lovable).
On 09.01. 2025, she gave birth to 2 boys & 2 girls.
I named them:
Lua - for a Roman war goddess to whom soldiers dedicated their captured weapons.
Artemis (Arti) - Greek goddess of the hunt.
Gylfi - an ancient King of Sweden in Norse Mythology.
Sophokles (Sopho) - my favourite Greek tragedian.
That's all.

She's actually been flawless in both motherhood and knowing when to leave.
She tends to come to us, check if we can watch the babies, then chill somewhere else!

She was a stray, some neighbour got her from some shady place & ... Ignored her existence (& her sisters', whom also got pregnant, & whom also gave birth in our backyard.. she is now safe at a rescue).
Outdoor cats are really not a good idea here, they decimate the local bird population. So Mabel & her kittens will be indoor-only.
However, we've already leash-trained Mabel & will train the babies too - we're considering an outdoor cat coop. But they are pricey.
