This nasty burn doesn't hurt much anymore (though the thumb on that hand gets tired and sore very quickly. I think that burn was deep enough to affect the underlying tissues). But HOLY CRAP DOES IT ITCH!!!! OMFG, I so badly want to take this protective stuff off to scratch it! The film is clear, I can see the fluid is clear and not infected. It's just SO FUCKING ITCHY!
@bebadefabo I couldn't tolerate the protective film over the burn any longer, but it's healed enough it's not open. The dried bits are off, so it's finally not itchy, just sensitive. I'm a little stunned how big the burn is. At the time of injury, I had thought it was just a small spot, but it's like almost 2 inches.
@bebadefabo I was reseasoning cast iron after a caregiver, who insisted she knew how to use them, fucked 'em up real bad. At 450 F, I bumped the oven rack with my wrist.

So, you’re healing!
If that’s any consolation.

@merileedkarr FUCK histamine! lol
Thankfully, it's healed past the itchy AF stage and is at the somewhat fragile new scar stage.
I credit bestie's care for the speedy trip to this much less miserable stage of healing.
