my instances server fetches all that stuff from all the other instances (over time)?
so can mastodon users see my screaming into the void (i understand @endless screaming now)?
or can i just see their posts and interact with them, as my instance crawls anything available?
are there cutoffs / limits / if not shown after timeout never seen?
is there a way to get back to the post i tried to comment on which disapeas after i am finished typing (as coming from facebook i alsways type in an external editor, then paste, not to provide biometric typing data)...
aaand: i create my bubble over time by using #tags? or by the tags defined in my profile? or both? or is there anyhow some kind of algorithm filtering and selecting what to show (feels mind blowingly open but somehow lonely the same time)?
do i need followers or friends for it "to be like at ..."?

Looked it up:
Foil made from a thin leaf of tin was commercially available before its aluminium counterpart.
In the late 19th century and early 20th century, tin foil was in common use, and some people continue to refer to the new product by the name of the old one.
Tin foil hats seem to have been mentioned in 1927.
In 1911, Bern-based Tobler began wrapping its chocolate bars in aluminium foil, including Toblerone.
@SimonCHulse The metal foil in question hasn't been made from tin since the early 20th century. It's made from aluminum/aluminium.
I guess unless NZ is still trying to use up some VERY old stock. Or maybe NZ is flush with tin reserves and it's actually cheaper to make the foil out of tin over there. But ours is definitely made from aluminum.

On weekends, I sleep downstairs with her to keep her company (because she is 18 and has arthritis and can’t pull her body up the stairs but really needs a warm body to cuddle with)
It also means she has all kinds of faces when I open my eyes but don’t immediately get up to feed her

It was always like that I suspect. I've seen propaganda prints from the 1530s, which I am told are screamingly funny if you're a historian who is intimately acquainted with the micropolitics of Germany's wars of religion. The same was probably true of cave paintings.

Reminds me of Facebook when it started becoming popular. Random posts here and there, not much movement overall. The trickiest part is getting more people to switch. I feel like some "integration tools" would help a lot - you know, something that cross-posts content someone posts on FB here automatically, so that others can follow them here and not feel like they're missing out.
