this meme combines celebrity worship and weak position taking (power dynamics). It is effective counter-insurgency; it gets "kind people" to state they will leave the planet on their own (as opposed to continuing their struggle against their adversaries for the resources that those adversaries are hoarding ) Mastodon is as creepy as any other social media platform.
absolutely. I was at a marionette show with my 4-year-old two weeks ago and there was a super obnoxious child who kept loudly talking back to the puppets.
When a puppet asked the children: « can you tell me what is another flaw, aside from envy? » he replied « kindness ». I couldn’t believe it.
We all found out his name during the show: « Charles ». New saying around the house: « don’t be like Charles »
That ain't cool in the case of that annoying kid, especially assuming this was meant as a fun thing for kids to enjoy with their parents or their caretakers, and someone has to go and act like that.
I mean it's one thing to go along with the show and reply where it's encouraged to do so, as I understand it most shows like this encourage engagement in that sense, and another to do basically the kid equivalent of heckling.
Like, the part where it was asked,
can you tell me what is a another flaw, aside from envy,
a great answer to that, and one that's sadly relevant to current events, would be 'greed' or 'dishonesty.'
@dfx4509b yes that kid was talking back the entire time... essentially a 5-year-old heckler. He was sitting on our row in a teeny tiny theater and I saw that his parents didn't tell him to quiet down, not once. Even the puppeteer got fed up at one point!
That's like going to a kid's art or craft class, once again something that's supposed to be a fun thing for kids to do with their parents or caretakers, moreso if the project involves things like glitter as part of a collage day or even if it involves painting a snowy scene (glitter works particularly well for adding sparkle to the depicted snow), or even if it's a paper mache or splatter painting day, and some jerk kid ruins it for everyone by spilling the glitter or glue or paint everywhere.
(not that glitter won't be spilled if a project involves that, even if one takes care to dump it into a tray to minimize mess where possible, some will still escape regardless, or that paint won't be flying in a splatter-painting project as that's kinda the idea in that case, or not that there won't be glue drips/spills when dealing with paper mache as you're wrist-deep in that stuff all day as part of building the project, but still)
