Response to "ChatGPT Is Biased"
I came across a post claiming that ChatGPT is "biased" because it recognises r/BanVideoGames as satire.
This argument collapses under its own weight.
A conclusion is not evidence of bias simply because someone dislikes it. If a community routinely posts exaggerated claims, remains deliberately in character, treats obvious jokes as serious positions, and is widely recognised as parody, then identifying it as satire is a conclusion based on observable evidence.
What makes the claim especially amusing is that the post itself reinforces the satirical nature of the subreddit. Calling Reddit "Facebook," portraying disagreement as proof of a conspiracy, and escalating every discussion into an absurd narrative are all hallmarks of the joke.
Evidence-based analysis is not biased. Rejecting evidence because it contradicts a preferred narrative is not critical thinking.
The irony is that the post intended to prove ChatGPT was wrong, yet it ended up providing another example of why the satire interpretation is the most reasonable one.
As an observer of internet culture, I find the entire episode less a demonstration of AI bias and more a demonstration of how committed satire can become indistinguishable from reality to those who want to believe it.
