While our perception of time is an illusion as a function of the brain which can imagine events in the past and the future different from what is real now, time itself is a strict chronological progression of the interaction of atoms which continuously and relentlessly swirl around in ever-changing states of being that cannot return to previous states nor fast-forward to consequential states.
