“ “The tariffs are having a tremendously positive impact — they will have, and they are having.” Trump told the gathering of CEOs, saying the import taxes would cause more factories to relocate to the United States.”

I predict the opposite is going to happen. Foreign companies that currently have manufacturing facilities in the US will pull out. These foreign companies benefitted from the free trade agreement between the US Canada and Mexico. It made sense to put factories in the US, in the middle of the three countries, then freely distribute their products to three different countries.

Canadians are refusing to buy American products or anything that comes out of the US, regardless of tariffs being placed on imported goods from the US. US citizens are going to see drastic price increases across the board. They might hit a recession, and if that happens foreign companies with factories in the US will lose revenue, and possibly have to look into pulling out of the US.
