to endure war with affectionate mirth
while children of fallen heroes lament
collapsing pillars of the government.

We march with Caesar in the wilderness
to erect bridge of social happiness
that leads us over the rainbow of faith
to beautiful land of enchanting myth
where children are not killed by angry bombs
by serpents writhing on apple-tree limbs.

Infamous painter of splotches that form
animals in barns on the country farm
regales the tyrant on the throne of gold
who attempts to break the orthodox mold
with violent retribution for his loss
by screaming in rage that he is the boss.

He sails huge ship across the ocean blue
in vain attempt to find the secret clue
that would unlock the gates of paradise
so he can wear the alligator face
by leading slaves to find the Promised Land
which they shall conquer with the red right hand.
