mastodon.social/@glennsorrenti… glennsorrentino@mastodon.social - 😍 Pinch me, I must be dreaming. This is a new smartwatch with a braille interface for users without sight. What's even better is how beautiful the hardware is, even though users can't see it. Care and attention to detail to the max.

@Susan ✶✶✶✶ I did have to laugh a bit. "Users without sight"? Why not simply say for the blind? I am totally blind myself, for the record. Anyway, the watch is an interesting concept. Still, I'm a bit confused. Obviously, for the deafblind, this is a wonderful thing. But since this is a smart watch and not a regular one, what would be the advantage of braille over speech for other users? Wouldn't it make more sense to have it simply speak, as phones and computers do?
