I just discovered the Fediverse (English) Wikipedia page has a huge section on AT Protocol and I question why. It seems like excessive promotion of Bluesky and its protocol that is not compatible with ActivityPub, both technically and in spirit. Illustrating bridging isn't the same as compatibility. Might as well add sections for other random network protocols like XMPP (Jabber).

That's absolutely sad to read. The CEO of @mullvadnet is not only financing the far-right Swedish Örebro party, but he even is their main financer. 70+% of their money is his donation. He is the reason why they go nationwide this year.

For obvious reasons i cease to trust this service. Also i do not finance parties that aim for forced deportations.

It's curious how Google hosts a "Get it on Google Play" badge, but only in dark mode and Apple provides self-hostable light and dark mode variants.

Which is why you almost never see a light mode Apple "Get it on the App Store" badge, because Google only allows the black background badge.

Why Google?

Does anybody know of an #android #radio app that doesn't use internet bu mt receives #FM vi earphones as an antenna ?

Basically like Samsung's app but downloadable from the #fdroid or play store ?

Would be even better if it's #Floss but if not a deal breaker if it's not #opensource

Many thanks for any recommendations ! :owi:

Edit: I don't believe I've asked before but anybody that's not got a recommendation but is willing to boost I greatly appreciate it

Me 2 years ago: It's time to finally divest myself from Google services, despite the effort required, the additional cost, and the massive inconveniences I will incur. Proton Mail looks like a safe, well-recommended choice.

Me today: [long, protracted sigh]

If you’re still using Proton mail:

The company is sponsoring the videos of French far-right / fascist YouTuber Vincent Lapierre.

If encryption is part of your vision for a better society, find a better service provider.

UPDATE 2026-06-08: Response from Proton. This comes after mods apparently deleted lots of critical posts in r/ProtonMail.

@nileane@nileane.fr:

@LukaTheMouse
I hadn't read Luka The Mouse's page before today, but it looks good to me. It's the path I took, more or less.

I went from Google to custom email domain + Proton, and then moved the custom email domain from Proton to Tuta.

I use a self-hosted version of the open source sandstorm.org for my cloud drive. But you have to be relatively technical to do that.

I moved from Proton Pass for password manager to Bitwarden, but Bitwarden has been doing things I dislike. I'm looking for other alternatives.
