Event Invitation – Digital ID Cards
I’m Anna and I work in the Policy team at Liberty.
As you may have seen in the news, the Government has announced plans to introduce a digital ID card system in the UK in a misguided attempt to reduce irregular migration.
We are deeply concerned that this will cause a host of human rights concerns.
An introduction of a digital ID card system could not only exclude some of the most marginalised members of our society from employment, but it could also put our most sensitive data at risk of hacking and erode our privacy protections.
There have been many headlines around these plans, as well as a recent change in Government messaging. I know you care about protecting your right to privacy, which is why I would like to invite you to a Liberty event to discuss all things digital IDs.
Date: Monday 10 November 2025
Time: 6-7pm
Location: Online Zoom event, link to be sent closer to the time

In this online event, I will take you through the current Government plans, as well as outlining Liberty’s stance on this issue and what our work looks like going forward. There should hopefully be time to answer some of your questions too!
If you want to see more of these sorts of events, please donate to our Crowdfunder so we can carry on with this vital work to protect our privacy and stop the encroaching on our rights in the UK.
