Trying out Friendica

So I decided to give Friendica a go, as it looks like social media used to back when it was still fun. I'm impressed by all of the features; scheduled posts, groups, circles, privacy settings, events, et cetera. One thing I'm a big fan of is the ability to filter posts by type: video, audio, etc. I often think about all these fedi accounts I have solely for the specialized interfaces…

It is a shame that there aren't many nice looking mobile clients for Friendica, but I'm not opposed to sitting at the computer. In fact, it's probably healthier if using social media is an intentional activity that you sit down to do, like it used to be.

So far, I've been seeing the odd timeout error here on friendica.world, but things seem to go back to normal quickly. Got to say, I like this. I think this will make it onto my keyoxide identity profile after all.

On my phone, I use a chrome bookmark that I put on one of my screens and that works basically like an app. I'm very happy with that. Other people are using the raccoon app and say positive things about it.

Yea, I'm not sure if I'm just looking in the wrong places, but the mobile version of the site doesn't seem to have quite all of the options of the desktop version. I'll have to have another look.

I've been trying out Racoon for Frieindica. It's ok.

Otherwise I use Firefox on Android and it's great for some many things. Especially things that would otherwise force feed ads. (YouTube)

I've been giving it a go too. I just get a bit nervous when there aren't many options in case they get abandoned.

On my phone I use Fedilab. It also holds my Mastodon accounts and Pixelfed account

I didn't know Fedilab worked with Friendica; I'll have to have a look!
