MAGA nuts think it's unfair when Amy Coney Barrett sides with justice instead of Trump
While Barrett has fairly solid conservative credentials and has ruled that way — including on the Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade and other significant cases of the last five years — some in the MAGA movement have noticed that she has voted against the Trump Administration in some key cases, and they’re not happy with her.The latest instance came in a case when the Court ruled on whether Trump can invoke the Alien Enemies Act for deportations. The Supreme Court sided with the Administration 5-4, but Justice Barrett sided with the liberals on the court in dissenting.
Some on the right appear to believe that because Trump appointed Barrett, she should therefore side with Trump on every single legal matter, when that is not how judicial review works. There is, in fact, a long conservative legal tradition of resisting overreaches in executive power.
