The album
The album
I collected all my files and made a final album that I released in 2024. It features 12 tracks of various styles, all of which are electronic, lo-fi-style productions.

1. California Coastal
When I was hired by an award-winning sound design company at Venice Beach in the '90s, I was thrust into a world of capable companies producing high-end commercials and music videos. I recall being so impressed, and I eventually got the chance to work for brands like Nike, Adidas, Coca-Cola, and all the major car companies. I fell in love with the California lifestyle, and this track expresses my feelings about the place: the sunny weather, palm trees, and open highways.
2. Simulation
I found some cool arpeggiated synth patterns and built this track around them. It is a typical dance-beat style with some trance flavors.
3. Concentrate (Lo-fi mix)
I found a plugin that produced interesting granular effects and played around with the line "concentrate," as the effect was quite confusing to listen to.
4. World City Tour (Lo-fi mix)
This track comes off as a bit of a riddle. As the voice mentions some of the major cities around the world, I am expressing the feel of a futuristic LA by using a sound similar to the "Blade Runner" score by Vangelis, whom I admire a great deal.
5. Coca Cola Jingle (Garden Party Mix)
I recorded a conversation with my girlfriend from Cambodia. We were talking about Coca-Cola and its cheerful advertising. I built this track around it as an expression of the feelings foreigners often have toward the brand.
6. Up in the Sky (Venice Beach Edit)
Venice Beach is one of my favorite places in the world. The area showcases a large variety of people and cultures. It is a place of creativity and freedom—and back then, when I first arrived there it was also a bit risky and edgy. I made this track to express my thoughts about it: that there are many folks who think about life differently around there.
7. Promise You (Indie Mix)
I am imagining a female robot programmed to adhere to your every wish, yet when you turn your back, she is just like most other attractive women: hard to keep track of in the long run.
8. Questions (Ambient mix)
This track expresses my feelings about being around powerful women, such as executive producers, attorneys, and judges.
9. Pretty Girl (Mobile phone mix)
This track expresses my thoughts on the typical "pretty girl" who always has to be careful about her actions when she is alone and unprotected.
10. I Want You to Come (Bedtime edit)
This came out of an accidental edit of a voiceover that suddenly sounded very erotic. I made a track to fit that vibe, inspired by the song "Je T'aime Moi Non Plus" by Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg from the '60s.
11. Do It
I was working on an idea for a Nike commercial, and this is what came out of it. It is somewhat inspired by edgy rock tracks with heavy synth lines.
12. Are You Ready?
This is my only drum-and-bass-inspired track. I am imagining a scene with a female police officer getting beamed up by a UFO on a distant highway somewhere out in the Wild West.
