Australia is where my relationship with synchronicities began

Synchronicities – a term coined by Carl Jung – were those ‘coincidences’ (which are never really coincidences) that drew me towards, and then led me down, this path of spirituality; it was these events that slowly made me realise the illusion we call reality.
There were many of them, big and small, but they all led to an awakening of the soul, I have already recounted many of them, but there are—and there have been—so many that it is difficult to find the time to write about and talk about them all.
The one I will talk about today was the first; there were certainly others before it, but Australia was the one that stirred something within my soul.
Let’s go back a year: I was still in Italy, and a politician in government caused quite a stir. He was originally from San Benedetto del Tronto, where I was born and where his family still lived; I knew his son—I can’t remember why—tall and thin, about 18 years old. What did his father do? A member of the Forza Italia party, led at the time by Silvio Berlusconi – a criminal mafioso of the sort we still have plenty of today – this politician from the Marche region, during a debate in the Italian Parliament in Rome, punched a member of the opposition. It was a scandal, and the newspapers and television talked about it for weeks; this meant that his son stuck in my mind even more vividly. … anextraordinaryandordinarylife…
