Rant ahead. To those who post pleasant content, please ignore this, and thank you for brightening my timelines.
As someone who generally loves the upper (titled) and upper middle (extremely rich but non-titled) classes, the British monarchy, high culture, etc. I am finding many posts in the Fediverse to be frustrating. This is regardless of network or instance. Everyone here, including the educated and cultured, seems to hate the rich as a whole (they're not all bad/the same), capitalism, and probably the monarchy, though fortunately, I haven't seen negative posts about the latter. Then, there is the politically correct crowd, who is offended by everything, from words, to history, and who go on about race, sex, etc. I feel like I've walked into a Communist convention, and that's not where I want to be! Ask those from the USSR about that. Mind you, I'm not any sort of right-wing extremist by any means. I'm a blind, childfree, atheistic, straight woman who, ironically, is really only offended by homophobia (I have cut people from my life over it). I usually stay out of world affairs. My main goal in life is to seek and enjoy pleasures within reason, to remain happy, and to keep drama on the stage and away from me. I seek those who share my interests, and/or at least who aren't, to use the phrase, social justice warriors. Even when I do care about something, such as nature, for example, I'm not going to tie myself to a fence, or yell at someone who eats differently from how I do/try to convert him, or destroy property, or get myself arrested to make a point. Yet, whenever I've been adding people lately, they will sound interesting, only to either start posting about politics, or to show some kind of radical views, or to rant about the upper classes. This is what I mean when I ask where are the normal people!
