I am continuing my journey AWAY from Meta and Google.

This post describes all the alternatives I have chosen, along with links to longer articles I've written about why people are leaving Google and Meta, including with longer lists of alternatives.

I am on a similar journey. I'm really diving into Friendica as my Facebook replacement right now. I hopped onto PeerTube for my small video hosting needs, but will definitely take a look at Dailymotion as well.

@etnmarchand That's interesting. I hadn't heard of Friendica. I'll check it out. What are your thoughts so far?

It is small, but federated (ActivityPub). Some of the instances have plugins for integrating BlueSky as well (friendica.world and my-place.social both do). The interface is built as more of a Facebook replacement complete with groups and a calendar). Oh, and you can add rss feeds right into your newsfeed (I now subscribe to your blog in my feed!).

Down side so far... it is a little slow. But that might be my instance/server being overseas.
