🗳️ Help Save the Cordeliers Friary in Les Thons, Vote for Our Heritage!
🗳️ Voting will open in 11 days...⛪ In the heart of the Vosges, the church of the Cordeliers Friary in Les Thons is a remarkable example of medieval Franciscan architecture.
Built between 1452 and 1486, it forms part of one of the best-preserved medieval Franciscan complexes in eastern France. Listed as a Historic Monument since 1980, the church also houses precious protected stained-glass windows. 🏛️
Today, the building remains at risk due to cracked vaults, deteriorated masonry and a severely damaged floor. The project includes consolidating the vaults, repairing the plasterwork and restoring the former funerary chapels. Eventually, the church will be able to house a museum of sacred art open to the public. 🛠️
From 19 October to 1 November 2026, every vote will count.
The project receiving the most votes in each department will be awarded an exceptional grant of €10,000 to help fund its restoration work.
