I keep wondering if anyone is so gullable to engage with "her" in the spam "she" keeps sending out.... It's just a lot of blocking and that's it... Until they make a new account and try again... On Mastodon, I see people asking for handouts all the time. Over and over again, and they're constantly boosted. Some are likely legit, but I doubt most are.
There's a filmmaker who's sole contribution is asking for money to finish this film or that. Every post. Never replies to comments. At least not publically. They have thousands of followers.
Someone here has undoubtedly fallen for Nicole, and any sisters that maybe in the process of being born.

I asked for help too, when my dog was ill and I struggled with the vet bills. And I felt ashamed of asking financial help. And I thought I asked a lot! But when I see the numbers of money that some folks keep asking for, the bit I asked, it fades in the sun like it's nothing...
But then, I did share the vet bills that I paid with the money that I got donated. I was honest and definitely not scamming (although I guess everyone would say that they're not scamming... π). And I felt miserable for needing to ask help.
But yeah, I think you're right! Seeing how many people tried to help me with Arwen... I guess that folks on Fedi will try to help as much as they can, so it makes it easier to scam them... π
