Elements of Magic
Today I start the first of the Core Classes with The World Tree Lyceum, Elements of Magic. Hopefully all will go well, and that this will be a glimmer of light in a dark world.
UPDATE
This turned out to be a very problematic course to start for me for a variety of reasons.
1. It is entirely conducted via Facebook, which I am not on. Although they said they could do it out of band via email, the reality was I have been entirely out of the loop.
2. Signing up requires using Google Forms and a Google account.
3. Payment is via PayPal, although I was able to arrange an alternative.
4. They also us Discord, again I do not use Discord.
5. They make use of spiritual "technology" which is essentially a hypnosis technique, for trance. I refuse to be hypnotised or engage in any such techniques and the usage of the word "technology" sounds far too much like the Scientology cult.
6. They heavily push "Land Acknowledgement" which while it makes a lot of sense in North America, Australasia and other places where Colonialism has stolen land from indigenous people, and even in the far north of Europe in the Sami Lands, in Central Europe where I live and practice it feels EXTREMELY wrong. They gave no alternative.
7. Their coursework (if you can call it that) was written from a very very white, able bodied, cishet, neurotypical and North American perspective. The complete antithesis of everything they purport to do. Lots of "all y'all" was in it. 🤷🏼♀️ Translation please?
I have paid my money and quietly left by just dumping any emails they send me automatically.
