The Scavengers – Self Tilted
This is a compilation of material from New Zealand punk band The Scavengers who later moved to Australia in 1978 and renamed as the Marching Girls. Features Brendan Perry from Dead Can Dance. I first heard the Marching Girls on the Dogs in Space soundtrack. It’s a classic Australian cult film & soundtrack. This is straight up power pop punk. Reminds me a bit of the Buzzcocks in sound. We spun the Marching Girls version of True Love on our wedding playlist.

This is one of the few record store day albums I own when record store day felt more about releasing interesting things and celebrating independent labels.
